As has been stated before, this tour covers a lot of Turkey.  The trip notes make it quite clear that there are early mornings, long hours on the bus and basic breakfasts so that should come as no surprise to any one thinking about this tour.  
This tour visits a lot of ancient sites so good shoes are a must as is the appropriate weather gear depending on what departure is chosen.  Our tour was in October and the weather was great.    By the end of the tour I had seen enough ancient ruins to last me quite a while.  
Due to the long distances travelled, some visits were rushed such as Troy and Gallipoli.
That being said, for the price paid, it was a very good tour.
Unfortunately, our guide Zapher, was absolutely disinterested in our group, probably because it was his last tour as he did not like being a guide and is planning to go to Germany instead.

Turkey in Depth

I recently returned from the Turkey in Depth tour, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Our guide, Oz, was exceptional—his knowledge of Turkish history, culture, and local secrets truly brought each destination to life. He was always ready to answer questions and went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves.

Our driver, Ömer, was equally wonderful, navigating the roads with such skill and ease, making us feel safe and well-cared-for at every turn. The landscapes and historical sites were incredible, but it was really Oz and Ömer who made this trip unforgettable. They created a warm, friendly atmosphere and ensured everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Turkey. This tour exceeded my expectations.  

The Explore Turkey in Depth tour itinerary was perfectly curated to showcase the rich history, diverse landscapes, and vibrant culture of Turkey. Each day brought a new highlight, from exploring the ancient ruins of Ephesus to the stunning natural beauty of Cappadocia. The balance between historical sites, breathtaking scenery, and authentic local experiences was spot on, giving us a true taste of the country’s depth and variety.

The itinerary was thoughtfully paced, with just the right amount of time at each stop, so we never felt rushed. Highlights like Pamukkale’s thermal pools, the mystique of Troy, and the lively bazaars in Istanbul were unforgettable, and the seamless organization meant we could just relax and enjoy. This tour gave me a deep appreciation for Turkey, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a comprehensive and immersive experience!

Turkey is a beautiful country and I enjoyed seeing it, there were quite a few long days on the bus. I think Explore could tweak the itinerary to improve the trip.  For example, on the day we travelled from Goreme to Antalya, despite departing early in the morning, we didn’t arrive in Antalya until late afternoon, it was dark for our visit to the old town. It looked like an interesting place, but it would be better to see it in daylight. The accommodation was average and some hotels we stayed at need updating, eg Grand Hamit, Cenka and Monaco. Our guide, Oz, was friendly and helpful and our Driver, Omar, was an excellent driver, and always friendly and smiling.
