Classic Scotland Itineraries

Scotland in 1 Week

Day 1, Edinburgh: Royal Mile, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Scottish Parliament building.

Day 2, St. Andrews to Pitlochry: See the birthplace of golf before continuing to Pitlochry. See Blair Castle, and explore this small traditional Scottish village.

Day 3-4, Scottish Highlands: Visit Loch Ness, the beautiful Isle of Skye, Clan Donald Centre, Ben Nevis, and take a ferry to Mallaig. 

Day 5-7, Glasgow: George Square, St. Mungo's Cathedral, Wallace Monument, attend a whiskey tasting, and enjoy a local pub meal. Learn about the tumultuous history of Glasgow on a city walking tour.

Highlights of Scotland in 10-12 Days

Day 1-2, Edinburgh: Take a walking tour of the city termed “Athens of the North.” Linlithgow Palace, Royal Mile, Calton Hill. On day two take in Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland. Optional visit to Glenkinchie Whisky distillery.

Day 3, St Andrews: Glamis Castle, St. Andrews Castle, and a walk through the birthplace of golf. Plan ahead if you want to play a round!

Day 4, Scenic Drive to Aberfeldy: On the way to this Highlands town, visit Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle, and Bannockburn.

Day 5-6, Scottish Highlands: Loch Ness, Fort William, Urquhart Castle, Highland House of Fraser. Watch a sheep herding demonstration with Scotland’s famous Inverness Sheep.

Day 7-8, Isle of Mull: Stanley Mills, take a ferry from Oban to the Isle of Mull where you’ll stay overnight. In the morning visit Iona Abbey and Duart Castle before returning to the mainland.

Day 9-10, Glasgow: Before reaching Glasgow to end your tour, visit Loch Lomond. In Glasgow, see George Square, St. Mungo's Cathedral, and Wallace Monument. Attend a whiskey tasting, and enjoy a local pub meal. Learn about the tumultuous history of Glasgow on a city walking tour.
