This trip was our second trip with Intrepid and again we were very happy with the level of service, information, guidance and activities on this tour. At all times we felt comfortable being in a foreign country due to the guidance of our tour leader. Nestor was very personable and I think added to the value of this trip.

We covered so much ground in so little time.  I loved the group aspect of the trip, but also the ability to go off and do your own thing.  I also thought the suggestions that the guide gave for optional activities were excellent.

A jam packed, interesting fun 2 weeks in Cuba. The itinerary is varied between cultural activities and beach days and nature hikes. Thanks to our incredibly knowledgable tour guide Joan we learnt a lot about Cuba. Accommodation much better standard than I was expecting. A few long driving days as stated in the itinerary.

A very interesting trip exploring most of the island.
The ground covered necessitated long hours in the bus some days, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise if you read the trip notes.  The journeys passed quickly with scenery, communities, cars and horse and carts to watch as we passed, and there were frequent breaks for sightseeing, toilets and food.
Supplies are limited in Cuba, so mostly the food is nothing special.  There were, however, some restaurants in Havana which were excellent and surprised us with the choice and quality of their dishes.
The old colonial towns, such as Trinidad, are wonderful places to visit with colourful and ornate buildings.  There is lots to see in Havana, with museums, the old town and the faded elegance of a large number of the buildings and, of course, not be missed, a ride in an American classic car.
A lot of the hotels are fairly simple and the camping is basic, with some of the tents not being big enough for two to share comfortably.  Also, at one of the haciendas the facilities were minimal with only one female toilet and one male toilet, and a shower which was a pipe on a tap, which was just about workable as we were the only group sleeping there.  However, for me, one night’s camping would have been enough and either day’s walks, in the beautiful countryside, could have been done as a day trip from Trinidad.
Our Casa Particular was very nice, clean and well furnished, but it didn’t give us any insight into local life as it was just like staying in a guest house or B&amp;B and we had no real interaction with our hosts.
Our guide, Alberto, was very good, friendly and helpful, but we did feel he could have volunteered more information about various cultural and social aspects of the country.
Our driver, René, was excellent, very careful, very safe, and always cheerful.

I concur with Halina's review comments. Cuba is a fantastic country to explore and the comprehensive tour (thanks to Alberto the Tour Leader) gave a detailed insight into many aspects of its history, the current economic difficulties and its natural beauty. I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit.
