About the company
Miyar Adventures was named after the Miyar Valley in the Indian Himalaya where the company's owner, Sandeep Nain, did several first ascents of technical six-thousand-meter peaks in the early 2000s. It was while climbing in this valley that Sandeep realized that he wanted to provide opportunities for others to explore the beauty of nature while challenging themselves in a mountainous environment. Miyar is a portmanteau Hindi word that combines words that loosely translate as "camaraderie". Miyar was chosen as the company name not only because it was the valley where the idea of Miyar Adventures was born, but also because the word expresses one of the primary reasons Sandeep enjoyed climbing. From climbs in the Pacific Northwest to some of the most dazzling peaks of the globe, we accompany you as a trusted companion while you chase and summit the dreams of a lifetime.
We appreciate that each trip you make is as much about discovering yourself as it is about discovering the world. With this in mind we take the time to get to know our guests who join us on each trip, and construct experiences that cater to their interests and learning goals. We do not deliver "boxed experiences", but rather focus on developing real, lasting friendships with each climber, hiker, and student who has decided to join us in the backcountry.
Miyar Adventures is an equal opportunity service provider. We operate with Commercial Use Authorizations in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, North Cascades National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, and Olympic National Park.
