San Juan Island Outfitters

San Juan Outfitters is owned and operated by Brian and Rachel Goodremont. Brian is a well respected Boat Captain, Naturalist, and Kayak guide in the San Juan Islands. Having managed another highly successful eco-tourism business on San Juan Island for over a decade, it was a natural fit when the opportunity to become the exclusive whale watch and kayak operator at Roche Harbor presented itself.

Having spent hundreds of days guiding, and later managing San Juan Safaris, Brian gained the invaluable experience necessary to be successful in this industry. While many aspects of his former company can be seen in the operation of San Juan Outfitters, there will be new energy injected into this endeavor.

On starting San Juan Outfitters, Brian said: “My goal is to continue providing the high quality tours and adventures in the San Juan Islands and beyond. We will continue to focus on half day and full day trips, while offering a limited number of smaller multi-day and multi-sport tours. Kayaking and Whale Watching day tours will always be our specialty, but now we have an answer for our repeat customers and visitors looking for a high quality, small group multi-day or multi-sport experience”.

Purchasing San Juan Safaris in 2013, Brian brought San Juan Outfitters and San Juan Safaris back together.  Brian now owns and operates two eco-tourism companies from San Juan Island that continue to set the bar in excellence. 

Brian and Rachel both enjoy spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, adventure running, or cross country skiing. Whether winter or summer, rain or shine, you’ll find them both either working or playing outside. The San Juan Islands and Pacific Northwest are the perfect location for an active lifestyle.
