Victoria Falls Tour Selection Trips
- When considering a tour, think about whether you’d rather stay on the Zambian or Zimbabwean side of the falls – it will be your primary base.
- There are a greater number of falls viewpoints with better panoramas and vantage points on the Zimbabwe side.
- The Zambian side offers better close-up views, including walkways to the foot of the falls.
- The Zimbabwe side offers much more waterfall and spray action than the Zambian side during the October-November peak dry season.
- Both sides offer good accommodations reasonably close to the falls – including hotels, lodges, guest houses and safari camps -- though Zimbabwe has more within easy walking distance.
- Both countries offer adrenalin-pumping activities, though you may have to cross the border to try them all.
- If river rafting on the Zambezi is your passion, all 23 rapids are navigable from around June-February, while the March-May rainy season leaves just 13 navigable rapids.
- Zambia has more game parks near Victoria Falls than Zimbabwe, though the latter has a private park where you can actually walk with lions.
