Itinerary
Jambo na Karibu! With a warm Swahili welcome upon your arrival, you'll be transferred to your boutique hotel on the outskirts of Nairobi. Spend the rest of your day as you please.
Your safari takes off with a flight to Amboseli National Park. Upon checking into your well-appointed tented camp, meet your expert ranger for an afternoon game drive. Capture panoramic photos of some of Africa's largest elephants as they amble through the grasslands ...
Rise with dawn's early light for your game drive - you may catch up with the big cats, sated after their night hunt. Watch for wildebeest, zebra, impala and warthogs and see how many of the 300 species of birds you can spot. Tonight, unwind and be mesmerized by the dazzling blanket of stars.
Fly north to Shaba National Reserve, an area of blue and purple landscapes with a beauty all of its own. Home of the authoress Joy Adamson, the reserve has a special place in Kenyan history. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in search of the Special Five, the Grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, gerenuk and the beisa oryx.
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the quiet serene wilderness. Perhaps you'll come upon a cheetah snuggling with her cubs or a herd of gerenuk browsing in the foliage. Before your afternoon game drive, laze poolside and take in the views of wildlife lingering nearby.
Cross the border with a flight to Arusha, where you’ll be met on arrival. Continue on to your lodge, a peaceful retreat tucked within a large coffee plantation. Relax as you please.
Explore magical Lake Manyara, with seasonal pink-hued flamingos lining its shore and some 400 species of birds. Your ranger will diligently seek out the park’s fabled tree-climbing Manyara lions and blue monkeys to round out your photo gallery. Continue on to your beautiful lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater.
Descend some 2,000 feet to explore Ngorongoro's sprawling crater floor. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this unique biosphere has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. The crater is home to numerous herds of elephants, large prides of lions, le...
After a morning game drive and picnic lunch, visit Olduvai Gorge, site of the Leakey family's archaeological excavations which unearthed fossils of man’s earliest known ancestors. Continue on to the great Serengeti, the "endless plains" in the Maasai language, where m...
Depart during the early splendor of an African sunrise for your first game drive of the day. Collect a gallery of striking images as the morning unfolds: a lioness relaxing after her morning hunt, alert elephants guarding their young and ungainly herds of wildebeest grazing alongside zebras and gazelles. Relax at camp while the day cools down before setting out for your afternoon game drive.
During morning and afternoon game viewing activities, your ranger continues to lead you to spectacular locations of outstanding natural beauty where you can observe the wildlife at your leisure. Back at camp with the animals roaming around at night, your immersion in this kaleidoscope of wildlife is like living a dream for even the most experienced of travelers.
After a short flight to Arusha, you'll enjoy lunch and a place to relax at a reserved hotel day room until transferring to the airport for your onward arrangements.
