Botswana in 1 Week

1 week in Botswana is enough time to see the main sights of the country. Tours can range from camping and horseback safaris to luxury lodges and hot air balloons, but amazing scenery and fascinating wildlife await you no matter which way you choose to travel.

Day 1, Maun: Fly into the airport in Maun from Johannesburg or Cape Town. Shop in the outdoor markets around the city, sample local cuisine, and visit the Nhabe Museum to learn about local culture.

Day 2-4, Okavango Delta: Explore the delta via mokoro, spot unusual wildlife, and visit Sedudu Island.

Day 5, Nata: See some of the largest salt flats on earth near the town of Nata before heading on to Chobe National Park.

Day 6-7, Chobe National ParkChobe National Park is the best place in Africa to see African elephants, with single herds numbering in the hundreds. Lions, leopards, and zebras are also abundant here.
