"When I signed up for the Wonders of Costa Rica at a slower pace. The hotel listed in the itinerary for day 8&9 was a 4 star hotel on the beach called the Punta Leona. I'm not sure when but Road Scholar changed the Punta Leona hotel for the 3 star Villa Lapis Jungle hotel. I was shocked when we drove up to this dump. Others in the group wanted to leave and find another hotel. I had black bugs under that shower mat and the shower did not drain, Spiders on the wall and roaches coming out of the cracked in the bathroom. The bed was a thin mattress on a board and was hard as a rock. The food they put out was covered with a wrap but 15 minutes after the plastic wrap was removed it was covered with fruit flies. I passed on the open food bowls. The walls were real thin and the neighbors were real noisy until 11:30 pm. Others in the group complained about the late night noise, spiders and toilet seat being broken. I'm not sure where this place gets 3 stars. After I saw the roaches, I give it a 1 star. Road Scholar put us up in beautiful hotels and then they take us here. You can do better than this Road Scholar. The end the story, Road Scholar customer service called me about my concern and said they have never used the Punta Leona, (I sent her my itinerary that said PUNTA LEONA). She also said they haven't had any complaints about this Villa Lapis dump. After her call, I'm not sure if I'll ever travel with Road Scholar again. Enough said...."

"Hilariously bad support from outsourced call centers. They flat out bs you making up answers. They did not actually book all the hotels stated in the tour so there were some last minute changes that were very disruptive. The bus was missing luggage liners in the shelf above the seats so stuff was falling out while driving and I was hit by a heavy laptop bag."

"Our 8th OU tour was to Switzerland. We visited many sites in Switzerland, Austria and also a quick stop in Germany. O.U. takes all the stress away by using outstanding Tour Directors who handle everything. Our T. D. Kiara was fantastic! "Fantastic adventure! I did this trip alone and it was wonderful, I recommended for anyone travelling alone or with friends/adult family! You will meet a lot of great people, eat wonderful food, se landscapes masterfully crafted through 1000 year's of history. My communication with team at Euroadventures have been great, fast response, easy to understand and a great aid to fall back to if any uncertainty arose. Multiple days on one location make it easy to take in all the new impression that I got, they give you a good amount for free time so I never felt stressed and they give you further recommendations for extra activities that you may want to do. I did a lot of food tasting trips on the evening and museum walking. I lived in hostel's and hade a great experience, you have to lower your expectations (not a hotel) and understand your living with others so it might be a bit noisy but I made new friends and got great memories that I wouldn't get from a hotel. Highly recommend going to East Europe!"

"DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. I booked my spring break trip with them as well as another trip in April. I was sent home from my study abroad program in Florence due to the COVID-19 outbreak and am now unable to go on the trips. When I first tried to cancel, they refused to refund any of the money I spent. Their cancelation policy was very unclear and they refuse to take responsibility. They stated they are unable to give back refunds on multi bookings, which they did not inform me of when I went into their office or when I booked my trips. I think this it is very unethical it is clear costumers do not come first to them, money does. They then offered a 50% refund, which is not acceptable to me. I spent over a thousand dollars with this company and receiving $524 as a refund is nowhere near enough. I am very frustrated and disappointed, this company obviously does not care about its costumers. I will be sure to share my experience with others to prevent them from going through the same thing. I would recommend BOOK WITH SMART TRIPS, they actually give back full refunds for trips."
