I think my main suggestion though - think a few have mentioned it - is the start, it's just a massive group of people and with it being narrow in places it's a bit of a free-for-all. Perhaps organise it in waves going a couple minutes apart just so it's a bit more spread out at the start."

However, in May, right before our trip, we were told that our hotel in Venice had become unavailable. We just felt lucky that we didn't take the bait and fell into their trap. Otherwise, our trip would have been ruined. It's quite blatant when they had the gut to mention this in their email: "a free upgrade to 4 stars Hotel" without disclosing the much different location of the two alternatives.
