We booked a 16 day private tour to Vietnam and Myanmar in the last minute. Our travel consultant Emily so understanding, that she answered all our questions and emails almost immediately. She organized our tour that consists of Hanoi, Halong Bay, Mai Chau, Hoi An, Saigon, Mekong delta, Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake flawlessly. Our trip also included the five star Hotels/Cruises and flights. The tour guides in each location were very friendly and informative. For them our comfort was the top in their agenda. The countryside was spectacular and the local food was great. Not only we learned a touch of history, but also about their religion Buddhism in person and I have to say that was fascinating. The people that we came in contact with or people we saw were smiling at us. Our trip was so beautiful and we would definitely recommend this tour and MWT to anybody who wants to visit Asia.

A wonderful trip full of busy days that take in the history and culture of 3 
beautiful countries. The food was delicious, the accommodation was all 
superb, the Exodus guides were fantastic. Plenty to see and do for the 
adventurer that likes something slightly different
Inspirational moments would have to include the visits to see the history of 
conflicts in Vietnam and Cambodia, harrowing but a reminder to preserve world 
peace, the temple complex at Anghor Wat, the Royal Palaces in Bangkok, the 
homestay on the Mekong Delta

I really had the best time on this trip. The tour guides were amazing. So 
knowledgable and professional. Everything was perfectly organised and we 
squeezed a lot into a very short space of time.
Angkor Wat was wonderful. Our guide was from the area and spoke very 
passionately about the temples and about growing up in Cambodia.


All three were amazing. Catered to our every need and made sure we had an 
amazing time.


Be careful of the water in Cambodia!


The accommodation in Sihanoukville was disappointing. It wasn’t the one 
included on our itinerary and was of a much lower standard than the other 
hotels on the trip. It was far from the beach and the centre of town and was 
in the middle of a building site. However, I do now understand that the 
original hotel cancelled the groups booking and the team was unable to find 
another suitable place. It certainly didn’t spoil my trip but it would have 
been better if expectations were managed before we arrived at the hotel.

The Exodus team and the group leader were very understanding and 
accommodating and did everything they could to resolve the situation.

This holiday is a great way to experience 3 very different countries in South East Asia
The two days spent in Angkor - espicially sunrise over Angkor Wat.

We had three group leaders (one in each country). They were all very informative and passionate about their country. ..... And they were just like part of the group.

Really enjoyed the experience and looking forward to. Return visit.

An excellent trip and a great introduction to SE Asia. The&nbsp;pace was just right and the&nbsp;combination of cultural activities and free time was perfect. It was great to spend the 2 weeks&nbsp;in&nbsp;sociable, like-minded company and&nbsp;my fellow travellers and tour leader made it even more memorable.
So many...! The Homestay in the Mekong Delta was a highlight of the trip, even down to getting caught in a thunderstorm and torrential rain on our Sampan boats! The host was welcoming and her food delicious and the surprise entertainment at the end of the night was magical. The Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam&nbsp;were also amazing to experience, especially facing my fears of claustrophobia..!
Cambodia was special too,&nbsp;particularly the moving visits to the Killing Fields and S21, both very emotional but essential places to visit to truly understand the history of this wonderful country. 
Although our time in Bangkok was short, the Royal Palace was extremely impressive and exceeded my expectations prior to the trip.

Thyda was outstanding! Her passion and enthusiasm for her country was evident and her knowledge second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and she certainly went the extra mile in organising our meals and activities&nbsp;in the evenings-she was great company and was sorely missed when we left her behind in Cambodia! A&nbsp;top notch&nbsp;holiday made even better with our fantastic group leader. 
Our&nbsp;additional&nbsp;tour guides in Vietnam were also very good, especially our guide (Too??)&nbsp;who was with us during the Mekong homestay.

Deet is a must, especially in the Mekong. If you like shopping, make sure you have room in your luggage...souvenirs and gifts are&nbsp;very cheap! 
Be prepared for the humidity...even in monsoon season. Light, summer clothes (and waterproofs!) are essential.

The whole trip was superb, but I was disappointed with the resort of Sihanoukville...it didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the trip and the rather 'tacky' resort was not what was expected. Our hotel, which was in the process of being renovated, was again disappointing&nbsp;compared to others we stayed in and although the rooms were comfortable enough, some areas of the hotel&nbsp;were closed. (ie swimming pool) Although a stay by the beach was appealing, this resort, sadly, was not.
Our short time in Bangkok was enjoyable and the Royal Palace impressive. However, after arriving&nbsp;off our flight from Cambodia, the subsequent lunch and&nbsp;tour of the palace was extremely rushed and I felt&nbsp;that I couldn't appreciate the sights of the palace as much as I'd have liked. There was so much to see&nbsp;yet we had&nbsp;too little time. Maybe a free afternoon after arriving in Bangkok and the palace visit the next day would be better.
Despite these minor hiccups, it was still an amazing holiday and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone with a sense of adventure who wants to experience some of the highlights that SE Asia has to offer. Once again Exodus has delivered a fascinating, action packed holiday and given me some long lasting memories. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about this trip overall. Amazing guides, a great bunch of travel companions and some of the most beautiful sites and experiences I have ever had the pleasure of encountering.  Exodus did a great job putting the itinerary together so it was well paced and our guides added in their own unique off itinerary stops along the way which added to the experience at no extra cost and helped the local people also. And gave us bathroom breaks.  :-) Highly recommended.
Seeing Angkor Wat at sunrise is something I will cherish always and will never forget. What an incredible experience. And the visit to the Mekong Delta was unlike anything I have experienced ever.
The Killing Fields and Prison S-21 moved me to tears.  I do recommend reading First They Killed My Father either before or after. Before might prepare you a little. After you will know all of the sites and things she talks about and it all connects and makes sense in a way pre-reading won't.  I am re-reading now.

Ngoc in Vietnam and Rouz in Cambodia were fantastic and knowledgeable.  I felt that I didn't only learn about the countries I was visiting but got a real insight into their lives and families and what it was like to live in those countries and the hardships they face.  And kudos to Exodus for hiring women tour guides in Cambodia where that is something you don't see a lot there.

I do recommend tho if you have a bad back or find sleeping on thin or hard mattresses difficult that you bring an inflatable camping mattress or the like for the home stay. Other than that...the home stay was one of my favourite evenings. Best coffee of my entire life also.
Sunscreen is essential as you are out all day often in the blazing sun. Bug spray also needed.  Also despite what some websites will tell you, most of the temples in Cambodia adhere to strict dress code so you will not be allowed to do things like go to the top of Angkor if you are not appropriately dressed. That means skirts below the knee for women - no tie around your hips sarongs - and covered shoulders. Tshirts are ok. Tank tops are not.  Guys...no shorts. And we saw people turned away so it is real.  You can buy super cheap light pants for $3 in any market so do it there if you don't have the right type of clothes.
Food is cheap and delicious so you won't spend a lot per day in Vietnam or Cambodia...maybe $20=$25 per day max most days with beers. Bangkok is expensive and more like at home prices. Skydeck is worth the $20 martini for the view.

I will gladly take another Exodus tour...

Multi stop tour of South Vietnam, Cambodia and a short hop to Bangkok.  A mix of cities, a homestay on the Mekong Delta, a Cambodian beach resort, river trips, fabulous temples and palaces and you experience the hustle and bustle of Asia. Fabulous food, fascinating sights, wonderful people. Easy paced trip, no major physical activity. Air conditioned bus, some long road trips but with breaks roughly every 90 minutes.
Temples, Palaces, Sunsets, Markets, Food - yes, yes, yes. But, what I remember the most - our Cambodian guide made a point of stopping at small stores, road side vendors, craft shops, charity stores - each purchase supports the local economy and benefits directly the people with whom you meet and interact. That's the whole point of you travelling this way, yes?

We had three group leaders, one for each country which gave a fascinating insight into the various legs of the trip.  All of the group leaders very efficient, enthusiastic, friendly and capable.

I'll presume you're a fairly experienced traveler and know what to pack for Asia. Pack light, there are cheap laundries close to the hotels in Sihanoukville and Siem Reap to keep you going. Replacement clothes are a bargain in the markets, but buy at least +1 your usual size. Vietnam and Cambodia are happy to take US Dollars, but not so in Thailand. Take plenty of low denomination notes, or watch the staff in the shops and restaurants panic when you give them a $100 note....ATM's dispense USD in Vietnam and Cambodia and there's a currency exchange shop one block away from the hotel in Saigon. Spending money for lunch and dinner - you'll need about $30 per day, plus money for visas and the tipping kitty, so around $400 - $500 total should be enough.

Enjoy the fun and games at the Cambodia land border and take your sense of humour with you ! Try the Sky Bar in Bangkok for a last night drink. Finally, check the flight options before you go. The start point of the trip is Saigon and end point is Bangkok. Our group flight was LHR to KL to Saigon, return flight was BKK to KL to LHR. Probably some easier and more direct options to be had.
