Ama Dablam was first climbed on 13 March 1961 by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward, and Wally Romanes via the Southwest Ridge.
The main peak is 6812m and the lower western peak is 6170m.
Ama Dablam is the third most popular Himalayan peak for the permitted expedition.
Ama Dablam is sometimes referred to as the "Matterhorn of the Himalayas".
Although the height is only 6812m, it is considered as one of the technically difficult expeditions in Nepal.

The Nepalese name Dhaulagiri originated with its Sanskrit name dhawala giri, which translates to “beautiful white mountain".
This mountain was discovered by westerners in 1808 and considered the world highest mountain.
Dhaulagiri held the title of the highest mountain in the world for 30 years until 1838 when Kanchenjunga was declared the tallest.
The Swiss-Austrian team was the first to climb the white mountain in 1960.
Dhaulagiri now holds the title of the 7th highest mountain in the world.

Everest Base Camp is in the lap of the world highest mountain Mount Everest (also known as "Sagarmatha" in Nepal, "Chomolungma" in Tibet and "Deodungha" in Darjeeling).
Everest Base Camp is at the altitude of 5364m above the sea level.
Until 1856, no one recognized Everest as the highest mountain in the world.
Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary made the first official ascent of Everest on 29 May 1953 using the route from Jiri to Namche Bazaar for the expedition.
Everest Base Camp is inside the Sagarmatha National Park which is enlisted in World Heritage Site (UNESCO).
