Editor’s Take

What to Look For in Argentina Tour Reviews

Most Argentina trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: tour guides, tour companies, the number of tour activities, and travel accommodations.

Remember, just because you see a 1-star review doesn’t necessarily mean that a reviewer disliked their entire trip or the country.

With a 99% user recommendation from over 700 reviews, it is highly apparent that Argentina is a country which travelers enjoy exploring. For the most part, reviewers of tours in Argentina highlighted the way that they were able to get up-close and personal with the natural landscapes of the country.

Since the natural features vary by region, tour companies accounted for the desire travelers would have to interact with them. Therefore, reviewers were keen to note how tour itineraries included activities that ranged in physicality and natural/urban environments. This led many reviewers to mention not just their chosen tour company, but also specific tour guides, by name.

While these references were largely in a positive context, there were a few negative exceptions. Tour companies in Argentina strive to employ passionate, knowledgeable and organized tour guides who follow the group itinerary and offer suggestions for food or activities on free-days. However, some reviewers referred to their tour guide’s strict adherence to the tour itinerary as detrimental to their being able to fully immerse themselves in the cities or national parks that they visited.

It is important to note that tour guides often have little room for improvisation while leading a group, especially with pre-planned travel accommodations that cannot be altered at the last minute. Reviewers who found the rigidity of their tours in Argentina to be difficult were usually on short-term tours that did not allow for significant time at each site.

In comparison, reviewers who traveled 10 days or more were the ones that emphasized the array of activities that their tours offered. Whether it was on a cruise or during hikes through national parks, the tour activities that varied by area in Argentina were what made reviewers’ trips unique.

Travelers specifically mentioned how beneficial they found it that tour companies in Argentina offer multiple ways to spend free-days, both with the group or individually. This allowed for travelers to be independent, see a specific, lesser-known site, or save money by opting out of extra day-tours.

Similarly, those who traveled for shorter periods of time applauded the way that tours in Argentina worked to have a robust itinerary that made their trip feel worthwhile without the drain of constant travel. Travelers who required special accommodations for boarding or traveling spoke highly of the way tour companies in Argentina not only had high-quality equipment but were also prepared specifically for their arrival.

Some reviewers criticized the accommodations in Argentina. They specifically cited the way that tour companies in Argentina did not provide them with the level of comfort in their overnight hotels or hostels that they expected for the price of their tour. However, this is not always a problem with the tour companies themselves, as many list the lodging on their tour itineraries for travelers to research prior to their booking the tour.

Similarly, while Argentina itself is a highly developed country, there are still remote parts of it that tour companies take travelers to. These rural locations cannot provide more than basic accommodations without compromising their natural integrity and thereby, authenticity, for travelers.

Overall, there is no doubt that Argentina is a country which travelers have found extremely pleasing and distinct for the many activities it offers.
