Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary. Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
Cambodia tour reviews are mostly 4 and 5 star. Cambodia is commonly included on tours of wider Southeast Asia, so remember that many reviews for Cambodia will also be including their experience in some other countries as well.
Many positive reviews comment on their tours ability to cover a lot of ground and yet still not feel too rushed. Additionally, travelers rated highly those tours with guides who helped encourage tour participants to try new things, from unique local foods to adventure activities.
When visiting Cambodia and other Southeast Asian countries, you can expect the tour itinerary to include a lot of temples. From the famous city of Angkor Wat, to smaller lesser known ruins, to temples that still function to this day - you may run into temple fatigue. Some reviews in the 2 and 3 star range express frustration with seeing temple after temple.
Accommodations and service level in Cambodia can vary widely. Similarly to Thailand, Cambodia attracts young backpackers and adventure travelers, and the comfort level in hotels may seem to cater more to this age group. Go with a strong sense of adventure and flexibility!
