With a day to spare in Nairobi, I looked for a tour that was not the usual tourist thing but instead offered an opportunity to meet a few local people and do support a worthwhile organization. One Horizon offered exactly that. Booking was simple - confirmation almost instant with clear information on pickup time and place. Carol arrived exactly as planned and drove to/from the farm location for the time spent with the 'grannies' who are supported and learn to farm to support themselves and their grandchildren. The ladies (Beatrice and Eunice) made me feel welcome and shared their stories and chapati making while explaining what the program was about and how it is impacting their lives for the better. The piglet/pigs were fun too. Support an operator who actively works in the community to supply education and earning opportunities for the disadvantaged. When I return, I'd definitely participate again - but for more than a day tour.

Well I have to say is this is an amazing tour I had the best fun. In reality I think this is the best thing I've ever done in my life. My tour guide, she was amazing driver was amazing and I enjoyed it to the fullest

This is an amazing cultural experience. The organization ONE HORIZON has a very worthwhile effort to give Kenyan grandmas a chance to learn a skill that should allow them the opportunity at supporting, feeding and educating their grandchildren. They are happy learning business skills and proud to share their life stories.

"This was hands down one of the highlights of our incredible trip to Kenya. My mother, my 6-year-old daughter and I were picked up at our hotel by Solomon and taken to a Maasai community in the Ngong Hills. We spent a wonderful afternoon with a local family, hearing about their lives, dancing, and learning to make beaded jewelry (or at least attempting). They were very warm and welcoming, and it felt like we made a genuine connection despite the vast cultural differences. We also got to hear about the inspiring work that One Horizon is doing in the Maasai community. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

Better than I could have imagined. This experience will stick with me the rest of my life. I had no idea giving 1 pig could be so important. I met Mary, Rosemary, Helen and Eunice I sipped tea while one of them told me their story. I cried, we laughed, they cooked. Amazing how something as small as a pig can be the turning point in someone's life. Our guides were beyond expectation. Highly professional, informative and good people. Because of them I will look into more One Horizon programs. I've fallen in love with Kenya.

10 stars! If I could give it more stars, I would. This was one of the best experiences of my life. I highly recommend this tour. Do not miss it. It’s a must see if you’re in Nairobi!

My husband and I couldn't have had a better time during our visit. The women we met were very empowering and inspirational. It was so neat getting to hear their story of how they got to where they are now. From building their own homes to making jewellery and other accessories they truly are strong women! Getting to see where they live and what they do was very humbling, and we were so gracious they opened up their day to spend with us and allow us in their home.

Communication is friendly and professional at the same time, service was fully adjusted to the individual needs it was more than we expected. The safari tour is our life experience.
I continuously share information about this project among university students during my lectures in the field of business communication.
This is great example of the humanitarian project that includes local community needs. Students like the idea very much. We all can learn about patience, empathy and hard work from all of you. I wish you a lot of success!

It was amazing experience, never can imagine that Maasai life is like this.

Been welcomed at airport by amazing Nairobi lady who introduced us to the Kenya way of life straight away. We have an amazing discussion comparing life of western and African educated and advanced women. We have also enjoyed the cheerful one hour bus ride with other tourists from other corners of the world to the Maasai land out of Nairobi. The time with the Maasai group of men and women of all ages dressed in their traditional attire taking us to their huts and showing us their daily routine looking after cattle, making fences from the local tough plant and making jewellery for their colourful head dresses seemed like a dream. It was very interesting to listen to one wise Maasai mother of four how the lives are changing for their offspring’s even for girls who have less rights than boys and she dreams about the time they get western education too. It was interesting to also talk to a Maasai teenager who very skilfully was able to merge both cultures to his full advantage, studying in KenyaN college and living Maasai hunter and cattle hoarder life when home. I am richer for getting to know the true Maasai people. Thank you Colin for your vision to make it possible for us.
