Our Story

After many years of exploring Russia and its Far East regions, a natural desire to share Russia's diverse culture and amazing destinations, propelled us to launch a travel company focused entirely on Russia. We spotted a gap in the market relating to service, information and good travel options that meet expectations of western travellers.

‘56th Parallel’ refers to the place where we embarked on our very first adventure in Russia. The exact location was Krasnoyarsk city in Russia, which is located on the 56th Parallel of the north latitude. Simple as that. In fact, the 56th Parallel has extraordinary significance. Most regions in Russia have a territory that touches the 56th Parallel, landmarks at this latitude include Moscow, Novosibirsk, Lake Baikal, the Kamchatka Peninsula, Yekaterinburg and many more. Cool fact – most of the Trans Siberian railway follows the 56th Parallel, with a few deviations here and there.
