"I went on the Intrepid 15 day "Best of Morocco" tour in 2025 and had such an amazing time that I wasn't ready to leave by the time the trip finished! It exceeded my expectations in so many ways: value for money, itinerary, a lot of included activities balanced with lots of rest stops on longer travel days, very caring & attentive local guides, and lots of optional activities. As a company, Intrepid was very easy to communicate with before the trip started (I had sent a few questions about optional activities). The website is also easy to navigate and simple for updating travel & health information. If you are considering doing a tour with Intrepid - make sure you read the Essential Trip Information they have on each tour page. It describes everything in detail so you'll know what to expect. While I LOVED my tour, I can see some people signing up for this without reading the description and then being surprised at some of the 2 star hotels (in this case it was the "Original" tour style). Overall, I am impressed at how this tour managed to simultaneously get us closer to Moroccan culture AND feel like an adventure AND feel like a vacation from day-to-day life back home. I would travel with Intrepid again."

"Egypt – June 10 to June 16 We had planned this trip over almost two years. After looking at offerings from various vendors, we selected Memphis Tours. In a brief high-level summary, they did NOT disappoint! In rating this adventure on a 5-star scale, 5. One of my bucket list is to see the ancient wonders of the world. I’ve been to the site of the Colossus of Rhodes, the Acropolis in Athens, Colosseum in Rome, Machu Pichu, Great Wall of China, Stone Henge and now the antiques of Egypt. We structured this trip to see a lot; the Pyramids of Giza; The temples of Aswan and the temples of Luxor including the Valley of Kings. In a word WOW! To be up close, touch and otherwise experience these monuments some almost 5,000-year-old, is mind blowing. To understand the context in human history is amazing. Our trip included a mini-cruise on the Nile (WOW!). The boat the “Minerva” was good; including accommodations, staff and food. We flew from Cairo to Aswan, caught the boat, sailed from Aswan to Luxor; then flew back to Cairo to go home. Flights were included in our package. In the hope of not botching names, I’d like to call out three people: “Menna” who was our coordinator and overall “boss” of our trip. This young lady can do it all. “Mai” who was our guide in Cairo/Giza, so smart, feisty and knowledgeable in all things ancient Egypt. Lastly, but NOT least is “Waled” who took us to Aswan and Luxor. His passion and knowledge are amazing. I’m just glad there wasn’t a test after. Their in-depth knowledge of not just facts, but the whys are incredible. Memphis Tours – be glad you have these folks on your team!"

"We had booked a 4-day private tour through YET: Pyramids, boat trip on the Nile, White and Black Desert with overnight stay in a tent and Cairo with all its sights. From my first email inquiry I felt I was in good hands; Mona was always helpful in making all my adjustments to the tour tailored to us. We were warmly welcomed at the airport by Mr. Peter (and accompanied back there at the end of our trip). He was a great and valuable help with the visa and entry papers. The rest of the time we were accompanied by Mohammed, the driver (believe me, you need a driver in Cairo) and Menna, the Egyptologist. They were always friendly and courteous and kept surprising us with little things. We felt completely looked after and safe, no matter what we were doing, we always had someone to talk to and were therefore able to enjoy our time and relax. The information and insider tips we received were extensive and detailed. Our vacation was private and exclusive, we couldn't have imagined it any better. "My friend and I booked a 12-day/11-night trip to Cairo through Kemet vacations our representative Samy met us at the airport and guided us through customs and took us to our hotel in Cairo, Steigenberger, as was a very good Hotel for accommodation it was looking over the Egyptian museum, and every night we were walking around downtown for dinner and chill out m Samy usually was check with us about anything we need and check tour program day by day to give usually information do we shall need, it was a very good guy, thanks Samy Our guide Raouf was wonderful as I wrote an excellent review of him he was so nice gentleman was a most beautiful way of explaining the sights and the History, indeed he knows about his Country very well. Our cruise north on the Nile River on the Ms. Blue shadow was beautiful. It was a perfect cruise ship with a very friendly staff. In Aswan where we started our cruise, our guide engy met us at the airport and accompanied us up the Nile to Aswan. As an egyptologist and archeologist, she was a store of information. I know we could not see everything, but what we did see was awesome. Specially Abu Simple temple and the place at the end of Nasser Lake and the Nile it was so excellent experience and a totally great trip!!!!! Egypt is a must-do vacation."

Abu Simbel Tour Selection Trips

  • Abu Simbel is an ancient structure, and has already been uprooted from its original location to save it from flooding. Be careful and respectful of the site and don't go anywhere unmarked. 
  • A Nile river cruise is a great way to provide context to the many Ancient Egyptian sights, including Abu Simbel which the vast majority of Nile river cruises will visit.
