"I have just returned from a 12 day Best of Ghana Cultural Tour by Continent Tours. I have travelled around the world to over 40 countries and this was far the best trip I’ve taken. It was cultural, educational, historical, inspirational, and overwhelming with much joy which touched my mind, heart & spirit in such a sacred way. It was truly a trip of a lifetime and all due to the expertise of Tina Ross, Continent Tour Manager, the thoroughness of Matina Kuma, our tour guide, and safety of Samwell, our driver. She always exercised professionalism, thoughtfulness, compassion, understanding and a sweet demeanor throughout the 9 month process before our departure. To add to this, our tour guide was Matina Kuma, who had an effervescent and loving personality with her heartfelt hugs and sweet radiant smiles from our airport pickup throughout our journey until our airport drop off. She embraced my 3 companions and myself with much care, protection, respect & love as senior women and affectionately referred to us as “Mama”, which gave rise to us truly adopting her as our Ghanian daughter and genuine blessings of being family. She was very kind and generous to ensure our needs where met at all times. She had an amazing and thorough knowledge of all the regions of Ghana, its different languages and cultures which provided us with much education, history and to experience the different people of Ghana in every aspect of life. There was never a concern or fear or doubt that we were truly in safe hands. Samwell, our soft spoken, warmhearted and expert driver was very meticulous in maneuvering some of the undesirable roads to give us the best comfort. I would sincerely and strongly recommend Continent Tours to anyone wishing to visit Ghana and especially for those that desire to learn their ancestry. "My husband and I booked with Expect in Africa for our honeymoon in Tanzania and had the most amazing experience! Lawrence put together an excellent itinerary for us over 17 days. We started in Stone Town, Zanzibar then flew over to the mainland where we went on safari in Tarangire National Park, Ngorogoro Crater, and the Serengeti, and we also got to see the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River in the northern Serengeti. Our safari guide Joseph was amazing and so knowledgable about the areas we went and all the animals! We also did a day hike at Mount Kilimanjaro which was such a cool experience. After that, we went back to Zanzibar and stayed in Nungwi for some relaxation and also did a Zanzibar spice tour. We loved all of the lodges and hotels we stayed at, and everyone we met from Expect in Africa was so friendly. "I booked with Tours by Locals on Jan. 31, 2019. We were on a cruise out of New York City. We were due to arrive back to port in the morning and booked this to fill our day before we flew out in the evening. Two days before our tour I received an email that our guide was no longer available and they would try to find another. They didn't and cancelled our tour that had been booked for almost 9 months."

"On our honeymoon (partly in Tanzania) we did a 10 day safari with Hoopoe and specifically went for a locally owned company with a good reputation. Elias was our guide/driver who showed us more than we could have imagined, he found all the main animals and was very friendly and forthcoming with information about life in Tanzania. The company has their own camps and we were treated very well there, the food on the safari was ridiculously good considering where we were. All in all we walked away very positive about Hoopoe, they are a little bit more expensive than other providers but the service, accommodation, food etc are the exact reason why... also we were in a comfy landrover while everyone else was in landcruisers... Lastly, we originally booked on a group safari and although it ended up just being my wife and I, the tour went ahead anyway. How many tour companies would do that!"
