"When I signed up for the Wonders of Costa Rica at a slower pace. The hotel listed in the itinerary for day 8&9 was a 4 star hotel on the beach called the Punta Leona. I'm not sure when but Road Scholar changed the Punta Leona hotel for the 3 star Villa Lapis Jungle hotel. I was shocked when we drove up to this dump. Others in the group wanted to leave and find another hotel. I had black bugs under that shower mat and the shower did not drain, Spiders on the wall and roaches coming out of the cracked in the bathroom. The bed was a thin mattress on a board and was hard as a rock. The food they put out was covered with a wrap but 15 minutes after the plastic wrap was removed it was covered with fruit flies. I passed on the open food bowls. The walls were real thin and the neighbors were real noisy until 11:30 pm. Others in the group complained about the late night noise, spiders and toilet seat being broken. I'm not sure where this place gets 3 stars. After I saw the roaches, I give it a 1 star. Road Scholar put us up in beautiful hotels and then they take us here. You can do better than this Road Scholar. The end the story, Road Scholar customer service called me about my concern and said they have never used the Punta Leona, (I sent her my itinerary that said PUNTA LEONA). She also said they haven't had any complaints about this Villa Lapis dump. After her call, I'm not sure if I'll ever travel with Road Scholar again. Enough said...."

"We went to Philip Island last weekend with Bunyip tours n Chris.. it was very nice.. they took us to moonlit sanctuary, Churchill island and nobbies place too.. SSO it was so much fun.. Chris drove very safely and also he told us a lot of interesting facts of each places. lunch was simple but it's more about place than food for me so I totally enjoyed it.. — with Bhaskar Rao."

"New Zealand is one of the more remarkable locations I have had the opportunity to visit. It is truly a magical kind of place for me and seems to have had all the landscapes I love. "To me Cheepers is a10 star company. I love traveling and birding with them. The birding is outstanding, the bird guides outstanding, and the birders themselves are such wonderful people to be with. I like the casual, comfortable, non-competitive approach to birding. While our guides have unfailingly worked (and intensely) to make sure everyone sees the bird, I've never felt as if I were among high intensity birders who are competing either with others or themselves. And I can't remember a single trip where anyone was unable to see the bird. The price of each trip is what really appeals to my "retired budget." I've yet to experience any kind of lodging that was substandard; every place I have been, we've stayed at good places close to where we can get to the birds we want to see. The leaders are never intrusive or over bearing, yet are constantly aware of each person and attentive to each person's needs. Birding is hard work, yes; but birding with Cheepers is so much fun. I could go on but to use a very overworked word, this company is just plain awesome. It is my company of choice for any birding trip."
