"It's taken a while to get around to writing this review. Last march 2024 I had the most amazing Antarctic expedition with Chimu. Everything was so professional, from the staff to the ship, food and equipment. Thank you Chimu for a trip of a lifetime."

What travelers are saying

"I worked with Garvey to plan my dream trip to Patagonia. It was a two-week trip, we started in Buenos Aires, took the Australis cruise through the Tierra del Fuego fjords, visited Torres del Paine staying at the Explora Lodge and ended the trip in Santiago. All of the guides that Garvey arranged for excursions were excellent. Garvey managed the travel logistics between the different locations so that our experience in South America was seamless. Overall Lost World Adventures was a great travel agent for us. I had worked with this company previously for a trip to visit Angel Falls in Venezuela and hike the Machu Picchu trail in Peru, which was also fantastic."

What travelers are saying

"Absolutely superb trip. I would put this tour up there with the best I have ever done. The scenery is otherworldly and travelling in a small group (a driver, an English-speaking guide and 5 tourists) is perfect. Would recommend to everyone who considering doing this. Yes, the accommodation is basic, it gets very cold at night (I was there in early October) and there are a couple of very early starts, but it is all part of the adventure! I only have 2 negative comments: 1. Our guide was in a bad mood on the final day (we had our suspicions as to why this might be, but they were only suspicions, so it wouldn’t be right to mention them here) and was quite rude to the whole group – in particular to the 2 Swiss people, for no reason whatsoever. 2. Our guide insisted on taking the salt flats perspective photos with our phones – because “it is too complicated with cameras”, but this means we got rubbish photos, with either the foreground or the background out of focus. (My advice is to use your camera. Set it on aperture priority and use a high f-stop number – at least 9 – and set your focus to ‘wide’, not ‘centre’. Finally, don’t put the camera too close to whatever is in the foreground and don’t zoom. (OK, maybe he was right – that does sound a bit complicated, but if you do it right, you’ll get amazing photos!) Finally, I’m glad I’d spent 3 days in San Pedro to acclimatise before doing this tour, as the altitude didn’t affect me at all. Anyway, book this tour – you won’t regret it."

Highlights

  • Explore Galapagos is all about wildlife. A wild menagerie of remarkable animals thrives on these remote islands, scattered nearly 700 miles (1000 km) off the coast of Ecuador. The seclusion of this archipelago honed the development of unique animals, untouched and unafraid of human civilization.
  • See though the Galapagos now allows a limited number of visitors to its enchanted shores, careful habitat-management preserves this charmed ecosystem. The beauty of a sea kayak as a vessel for wildlife viewing lies in its non-intrusive, eco-friendly presence.
  • Exoerience this 8-day itinerary, live the wonders of the Galapagos by getting down to sea level in this exquisite marine environment. Giant tortoises, iguanas, blue-footed-boobies, and Darwin’s finches delight on island reaches, while penguins, sea lions, and an endless palette of underwater life beckon from the surf in this "Bucket List" adventure.
  • The “up-close-and-personal” nature of this itinerary allows for 5 nights spent camping on the beach on two different islands, and plenty of time on the water for paddling.
  • You’ll also enjoy the classic Galapagos highlights, like a visit to the wild tortoises farm and volcanic lava tunnels, with ample time to explore beautiful and fascinating beaches as well as the pockets of interesting animal populations that make the Galapagos unique. Finally, no Galapagos trip is

What travelers are saying

"When my partner and I went on a whale watching trip with Sea Kayak Adventures five years ago, we concluded that it was one of the best things we had ever done - especially the encounters with the grey whales in Magdalena Bay. I decided that I wanted an excuse to visit the whales again and I found this in a plan to go back with my family so that we could introduce them to my family and share their joy in this trip. As always, when organising such a treat, I was desperate that it would be as good a second time. I need not have worried, under the expert guidance of Monica (who amazingly had been a guide on our first trip) and Fabian our family group were wowed by whales that swam close, sky-hopped, breached and swam to our boat, rubbed against it, looked us in the eye mammal-to-mammal and then let us rub their skin. Wow oh wow! My niece even discovered that one whale had shared two of its sealice with her! Simply amazing and thanks to Monica and Fabian for sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise with us, and to Vicky for the excellent food."

What travelers are saying

"Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for a fantastic holiday in Argentina! We loved the country and the people. The highlights for us was Iguazu Falls, the wine tour & the little hotel in Mendoza and the Glacier trekking. The Glacier was amazing!!! All flights were on time and your guides were always there to meet and great. Please pass on a special thank you to Carla who looked after us in BA and kept in touch all through our travels. Thanks again to Lujan, who did a fantastic job putting it all together and we will recommend you and your company to all our friends & family."
