What travelers are saying

"The trip successful and enjoyable. We loved Bilbao, not only the Guggenheim but also the Miro Hotel. They couldn't have been nicer. We would recommend it highly. Barcelona was fascinating and the guides, Christina, Albert (driver) and Delores, were excellent. The hotel was very well situated for all the sites we wanted to see. Our only complaint was that the hotel was very noisy at night outside our room because many of the guests were inconsiderate. The rooms were very small. On the other hand, the staff was very helpful and pleasant. One major issue and a disappointment was the fact that we had told you that the main reason we wanted to go to Girona was to visit the former Jewish section. However, no one, not you, not the local tour company with whom you dealt, and not our guide did the proper research into the Jewish museum's hours. The local guide was excellent at the Dali museum but did not seem to know much about the Jewish history in Girona. When we arrived at the museum at 3 p.m. we discovered that it closed at 2 p.m. on Sundays. You can imagine our disappointment as the museum is the only place to learn the history. Despite this, we appreciated all your efforts. It was a great trip all around."

What travelers are saying

"We had a trip of a lifetime. Tim was very flexible in handling the planning of the itinerary. I wanted this to be a special trip for myself and my husband to celebrate our milestone birthdays and have always wanted to visit Italy to experience the sights, culture, food and warmth of the people. Tim was cognizant that my husband’s knees were not the best and so advised on the hotel proximities to the activities and events with that in mind. He also understood that I wanted to do this trip in as cost effective manner as possible and so was flexible when it came to allowing me to utilize our RCI points to book hotels and just advised on location. Tim passed the baton over to Alessio when it came to executing on the itinerary and Alessio did a marvelous job despite the time crunch given the trip was still within busy season of end of Sept - beginning of Oct. A week before the trip, my husband fell and damaged his knee but luckily was able to address this with an orthopedic doctor and we were able to proceed on our dream trip. We visited Rome, Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri island, Amalfi Coast, Florence and Lucca and experienced many of the activities and sites through private tours arranged through Amal Italia with the most knowledgeable, accommodating guides who worked together with the transfer personnel to make it all happen seemlessly. On trips to the Vatican, Uffizi Gallery and Pompeii as examples, the tour guides knew exactly how to condense the time spent to focus on the key highlights, telling the history while linking the intricacies and nuances of the artifacts being shown. Whether it was booking a cooking class in Sorento, visit to a vineyard, spa massage in Pompeii or a dinner overlooking the sea, Alessio did his utmost best to make this truly a memorable experience. We would not have been able to cover half the activities on our itinerary were it not for the very professional, flexible, knowledgeable and accommodating help on logistics and events through Amal Italia. Thank you Tim and Alessio for a once in a lifetime experience!"

What travelers are saying

"When I signed up for the Wonders of Costa Rica at a slower pace. The hotel listed in the itinerary for day 8&9 was a 4 star hotel on the beach called the Punta Leona. I'm not sure when but Road Scholar changed the Punta Leona hotel for the 3 star Villa Lapis Jungle hotel. I was shocked when we drove up to this dump. Others in the group wanted to leave and find another hotel. I had black bugs under that shower mat and the shower did not drain, Spiders on the wall and roaches coming out of the cracked in the bathroom. The bed was a thin mattress on a board and was hard as a rock. The food they put out was covered with a wrap but 15 minutes after the plastic wrap was removed it was covered with fruit flies. I passed on the open food bowls. The walls were real thin and the neighbors were real noisy until 11:30 pm. Others in the group complained about the late night noise, spiders and toilet seat being broken. I'm not sure where this place gets 3 stars. After I saw the roaches, I give it a 1 star. Road Scholar put us up in beautiful hotels and then they take us here. You can do better than this Road Scholar. The end the story, Road Scholar customer service called me about my concern and said they have never used the Punta Leona, (I sent her my itinerary that said PUNTA LEONA). She also said they haven't had any complaints about this Villa Lapis dump. After her call, I'm not sure if I'll ever travel with Road Scholar again. Enough said...."

What travelers are saying

"We liked the cherry and berry fruits coming through with gentle tannins. The spanish wines we had were extremely well balanced, excellent pairing with the steak we had in Aranda de Duero. The restaurants and hotel in Madrid were stunning, and Nina´s shopping recommendations in Barrio Salamanca made a difference. We will travel with Bravo Luxury Travel again"
