Travel Map

Day 1:

Enjoy some gentle riding along the mighty Rhone River and wander the alleyways of the famed Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Tonight, enjoy the comfort of our favourite new boutique hotel for a B&R takeover!

Day 2:

Cycle the classic Les Alpilles loop with its limestone and almost lunar landscape. Visit the fairytale gothic hilltop village of Les Baux, then follow our guide through Van Gogh’s last residence, where he produced some of his most famous works.

Day 3:

Visit towns L’Isle sur La Sorge and Fontaine de Vaucluse and unravel the mysteries of the Sorgue River. Our home for the next three nights is the incredible centuries-old farmhouse, La Bastide de Marie. Learn how to play the local game of pétanque, followed by a Provençal style dinner.

Day 4:

Experience Peter Mayle's Provence by bike, passing the picturesque villages of Gordes, Roussillon and Lacoste. This is your day for a gorgeous, albeit challenging, century ride! Dinner is at a nearby bistro with a million-dollar view!

Day 5:

Ride through the beautiful Vaucluse Mountains, enjoying stunning views and a royal picnic in an exclusive wine domain—here, enjoy a tasting led by former Alain Ducasse Sommelier, Kelly McAuliffe. Our final night's dinner is in a private room of the Bastide, but not before sharing a glass of rosé accompanied by some local jazz musicians.

Day 6:

Enjoy a farewell breakfast in Ménerbes at the hotel, then au revoir in Avignon.

Accommodation

Signature

We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay

  • Hotel de Tourrel, St- Rémy-en-Provence: Next to the Musée des Alpilles in the historic old quarter of Saint Remy de Provence, this stylish boutique hotel is housed in an absolutely gorgeous 17th-century mansion. With a chic restaurant, wine bar and a cozy rooftop pool, this architectural standout is the perfect base for exploration.
  • La Bastide de Marie, Menerbes: This beautifully restored, centuries-old “farmhouse” is set among 37 acres of the inn’s own vineyards in the heart of the Lubéron Valley. With two pools and terraces that run the length of the house, you will be hard pressed to get up from your lounge chair. Fortunately, the chef, Laurent Houdart , is on hand to lure you to dinner with his acclaimed Provençal cooking.
