What's this trip about?

The Great Wall, the Terracotta Soldiers, the Mogao Grottoes – when one thinks of classical China, these names leap out at you. This trip takes you there and more. Although Shanghai today is perhaps the most cosmopolitan of China’s cities, it has an incredible museum and very special sites located in the Old City. You begin with a trip through time and an architectural tour of this dynamic metropolis. From here, you head to a place on few itineraries, Pingyao, one of China’s three best-preserved ancient cities. Moving on, your path leads to Xian, famous for its Terra Cotta Soldiers and Tang Dynasty relics. From Xian, you fly to Dunhuang, located on the Silk Route, to experience the Gobi Desert and explore the art and history of the Mogao Grottoes. You end your journey in Beijing, walking the Great Wall, visiting the Forbidden City and other great sites that are integral to China’s history.
