What's this trip about?

Join our extraordinary guides on this truly unique view of Southeastern China, its people, holiest mountains, and its history. Beginning in Shanghai, you catch a train to Qufu to visit the birthplace of Confucius. From Qufu, you continue to Tai Shan, the most famous of the five Taoist mythological mountains and the symbol of the Chinese culture. At Tai Shan, you will join the many pilgrims who come to this area and walk to the top of the mountain. Continuing on your journey through Chinese history and philosophy, you head via Xiamen to Yongding, famous as the home of the Hakka, one of China’s most fascinating ethnic groups. Leaving Yongding, you voyage next to the area of Jiuhua Shan and the sacred Buddhist mountains of China, and Huangshan City. Here you can visit villages relatively new to tourists and take a cable car or climb Huangshan Mountain, declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Leaving Huangshan, you travel to Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China. After meeting with the porcelain artisans, the next step is Hangzhou and West Lake. You end up finally in Shanghai, the most modern of China’s cities.
