Meals: Dinner
The Nivernais Canal the rendezvous in Paris at the Hotel Mansart with the Luciole's representative is at 2.30 pm, followed by the journey to Auxerre in the barge's private bus. The Luciole will be moored on the impressive river frontage of the city, overlooked by the Cathedral, the 13 - 15th Century Abbey and Parish Church. A Champagne reception welcomes our guests on board.

After breakfast, the Luciole bus departs for Place Vendôme, central Paris where taxis are available for onward travel. Anticipated arrival is at 1pm. For guests wishing to travel elsewhere in France by train or hire car, a stop can always be made in Auxerre en-route to Paris.

Learn the secrets of French winemaking and visit Chablis and the historic town of Avallon and Vezelay, with its spectacular 12th Century Basilica. See the imposing Chateau of Bazoches and wrap up your tour in the medieval town of Clamecy. In the saloon, wall to wall, low level picture windows allow uninterrupted views of the Burgundy countryside. Refreshments are freely available at all times from our open bar. Air-conditioning is installed throughout the Luciole and is Individually controlled in each cabin. The cabins include three doubles, each of which can be converted into twins, three twin bedded cabins and two singles. Each has its own private shower and toilet facilities. Our days balance cruising the glorious Nivernais Canal with a daily excursion in our accompanying bus. Burgundy is a tremendously historical and culturally rich region with chateaux, market towns and vineyards. If you find it necessary to cancel your trip, please notify us as soon as possible. If written cancellation is received by ROW (call to verify) before the final balance is due, you will be given a refund less the amount of deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. If cancellations are made on or after the final due date, no money will be refunded. You are welcome to find a replacement for yourself. Please understand that once you’ve signed up, we lose the right to sell your reserved spaces to other individuals or groups. Therefore, we regret that we cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies. For this reason we a strongly recommend you consider purchasing a travel protection plan.
