Guernsey Short Break

Day 1 London - St Peter Port Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Gatwick Airport for an Aurigny flight to Guernsey. On arrival, we transfer to Best Western Moores Hotel (3T). Spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner at the hotel is included. Day 2 St Peter Port We enjoy an included guided walking tour of St Peter Port which will reveal a rich, fascinating history. Discover where Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables and where the Germans were shopping in the book The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Explore the delightful streets further, while you are at leisure this afternoon. Day 3 St Peter Port Today, an included half-day tour reveals the highlights of this beautiful island and uncovers more of Guernsey’s unique and beautiful coastline scattered with bays of golden sands, inspiring cliff views and extensive countryside. Day 4 St Peter Port Spend a full day at leisure. Why not take a stroll along the bustling high street or head over to the Old Quarter, where you’ll find a treasure trove of quirky shops selling antiques, paintings, vintage clothing and coffee. Perhaps enjoy a seafood lunch and watch the colourful traditional fishing boats bringing in their catch. Day 5 Sark After breakfast we have included a full-day excursion, by boat, to Sark, to explore independently. Choose either to walk up the harbour hill footpath which leads to the village, with its selection of quaint shops and cafés, or take a seat for a ride on the ‘toast-rack’ - the tractor-drawn bus. As there are no cars on Sark, the pace of life is leisurely and relaxed, and provides a haven away from the noisy, everyday world. We return to the hotel at the end of the day. Day 6 St Peter Port Today, enjoy a walk from the hotel to Candie Gardens, a beautiful Victorian garden with gorgeous views of St Peter Port Harbour and the neighbouring islands. Stroll along lawn-lined paths to find glasshouses, fish ponds and colourful flower beds, and relax in Café Victoria or visit the Guernsey Museum, housed within the grounds. You may like to then follow a trail around the capital or into the countryside - gorgeous pine forests and 17 miles of stunning cliff paths are within easy access for a keen explorer. Day 7 Castle Cornet Castle Cornet was constructed to defend the English island from France. Despite several battles between the two nations, it still guards St Peter Port harbour today. On our visit to this vast, 800 year old castle, explore five museums detailing notable events, visit the historic gardens and witness the Napoleonic Noon- Day Gun, fired daily in line with a tradition from at least the beginning of the 19th century. Day 8 St Peter Port - London Following breakfast, we transfer you to Guernsey Airport for an Aurigny flight to London Gatwick Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
