Day 1 Liverpool Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to the Aloft Liverpool (4T). We aim for you to arrive at the hotel between 4pm and 5pm. Spend the remaining afternoon at leisure, relaxing in the hotel or familiarising yourself with your surroundings. Day 2 Liverpool - The Beatles Story Liverpool’s city centre and docklands were recognised by UNESCO in 2004 for their role in developing one of the world’s major trading centres of the 18th and 19th century, with 40% of world trade passing through these docks. This is just one of the things which will influence our city tour of Liverpool today, as we start with a guided tour of St George’s Hall, considered one of the world’s finest neo-classical buildings. This 169ft-long building is decorated with inspiring figures, a priceless 30,000-piece mosaic and a concert organ with 7,000 pipes. We also view the striking Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and Royal Liver Building. Reaching 98m tall on completion in 1911, it was considered Britain’s first skyscraper. The Beatles Story is another city highlight which we visit today. The exhibition takes you back to the 1960s with replicas of the Casbah Coffee Club and The Cavern Club, and leads you through the story of The Beatles and their solo careers. Please note: 6 May and 27 May 2018 departures will enjoy a tour of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral instead of St George’s Hall, due to bank holiday closures. Day 3 Port Sunlight Port Sunlight Village was built in the late 19th century by William Hesketh to house his soap factory workers. With a passion for art and architecture, he created a village of enviable homes, many now Grade II listed, and mature parkland which has been beautifully maintained. We take a guided tour of the village and the museum, which holds the memories of the villagers and workers of Port Sunlight during the late 1800s and early 1900s, before returning to Liverpool to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Day 4 Speke Hall and Gardens Today’s excursion takes us to Speke Hall, a beautiful timber-framed manor house restored with the aesthetics of Victorian Arts and Crafts. Built in the Tudor period, when a secret priest hole was an essential feature of a devout Catholic home, it has survived for over 480 years, including a short spell when it was used as a cow shed. The Victorian gardens have also benefited from restoration, with a lovely kitchen garden and rose garden to enjoy today. Day 5 Liverpool Following breakfast, you will be collected at 10am by your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
