Llandrindod Wells Short Break

Day 1 Llandrindod Wells Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Llandrindod Wells, Wales. We aim for you to arrive at the Metropole Hotel (4T) between 4pm and 5pm. There is time to settle in following tea and coffee on your arrival. Day 2 Brecon - Abergavenny We head to Brecon. Set on the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons, this historical market town has also been a military town since its Roman founding. There will be time to admire the Georgian and Jacobean shop fronts, showing its architecture to the full potential, before we take a drive across the gorgeous Brecon Beacons, along the edge of the ominous Black Mountains. We arrive in another Roman market town, Abergavenny, for the opportunity to explore. Learn about the area’s long history at the Abergavenny Museum, within the grounds of a ruined Norman Castle, or spend a sunny day at Linda Vista Gardens, an exceptional, richly-planted public park with gorgeous views. Day 3 Elan Valley Dams We depart for the Elan Valley, where we make a stop at the visitor centre before driving through the Elan Estate to view the spectacular reservoirs and dams, with the chance to stop for photos along the way. This afternoon we will either return to our hotel by coach or take the Vale of Rheidol Railway from Devil’s Bridge to Aberystwyth (depending on the train operating schedule). We will have some time to explore the popular holiday resort, nestled between hills and beaches, before we continue to our hotel by coach with scenic mountain views. Day 4 Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall - Llandrindod Wells We depart for Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall, a picturesque stately home, defined by its Gothic Victorian décor. Each of the 52 rooms is decorated in a different theme and show fascinating collections. The 12-acres of gardens have also been developed to create a stunning setting, which includes four courtyards, a lake and waterfall, a 1.5-acre walled garden and a splendid variety of mixed woodland. They are also home to the ruins of the 12th century Cistercian abbey. Returning to Llandrindod Wells, you are free to make your own explorations of this small spa town, set in mid Wales. Whilst exploring, why not visit the Temple Gardens, which are colourful year-round, or the Rock Park, which is famous for its salt and iron-rich springs. Please note: You will be asked to take off your shoes when entering Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall. Slippers will be supplied by the Abbey. Day 5 Llandrindod Wells Today we bid farewell to Llandrindod Wells. You will be collected at 10am by your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
