Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast

Day 1 London - Naples - Sorrento Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Gatwick Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Naples. On arrival, transfer to our base just outside Sorrento for the next seven nights - Grand Hotel Hermitage (4T) or Grand Hotel Vesuvio (4T). Day 2 Sorrento Today is free to acquaint yourself with your surroundings in this beautiful part of the world. Day 3 Pompeii We visit Pompeii, the wealthy Roman town that was buried in AD 79 by a massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius. We have arranged a guide who will bring to life the day-to-day affairs of the once thriving town. Many household items were preserved within the walls that were buried in the thick layers of ash and lava, providing significant proof of Roman customs, trades and art. Even the walls themselves offer much information, with shop signs and graffiti with messages of electoral propaganda. To enhance your visit, you will be provided with your own audio headset. Day 4 Amalfi Coast Today we journey along one of the world’s most spectacular routes, the Amalfi Coast. The 50km stretch of stunning coastline winds its way along the Sorrentine Peninsula from Sorrento to Salerno with breathtaking vistas of land and seascapes. We include entrance to the Villa Rufolo, the historical and cultural centre of Ravello, where you can admire the attractive cascading gardens. Originally a watch tower, there are glorious views from its terrace over the Amalfi Coast. Days 5-7 Sorrento On day 5 we’ll journey to what is regarded as the jewel of the Bay of Naples - the small island of Capri, set in the idyllic turquoise sea just off of the Neapolitan coast. We enjoy a guided tour and time to soak up the atmosphere in the famous piazzetta, Capri’s main square, or take a relaxing walk through the gardens of Emperor Augustus. This visit to Capri would not be complete without seeing the Villa of San Michele in Anacapri and the spectacular Faraglioni rocks. Days 6 and 7 are free for your own explorations of the labyrinth of cobbled streets in Sorrento. If you fancy a break from town life, why not relax on a sandy shore or trek some of the 150 miles of trails that cross the entire Sorrento coast to discover enchanting places rich in history and spectacular view points. Please note, the excursion to Capri is not included for 2018 departures and will included a local musical show on the evening of day 6 instead. Day 8 Sorrento - Naples - London Today we board our coach for the journey to Naples Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Gatwick Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
