Day 2 Buenos Aires On arrival in Buenos Aires, we transfer to the well-appointed Hotel Pulitzer (4T) or Kenton Palace Hotel (4T), where we stay this evening. Early check-in has been arranged and the rest of the day is free for you to relax. Dinner is included this evening. Day 3 Buenos Aires This morning we enjoy a city tour of the capital of Argentina, including the Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Perón (Evita) is buried. This afternoon we transfer to embark MS Zaandam (4T) and the ship will remain in port overnight. Day 4 Buenos Aires The ship remains in Buenos Aires today, allowing you time to explore this culturally-rich city further. We sail this evening. Day 5 Montevideo, Uruguay Morning arrival in the capital of Uruguay, nestling on the north shore of the River Plate. There will be the opportunity to explore the Colonia del Sacramento, the oldest city in Uruguay and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before an early evening sailing. Days 6-7 At sea Two days to familiarise yourself with the ship and its many onboard amenities. Day 8 Port Stanley, Falkland Islands Morning arrival in Port Stanley, the picturesque little capital with its brightly-painted Victorian-style houses. This remote and beautiful group of islands, with a temperate climate, warm and friendly people and unique way of life is one of the few places in the world where nature still seems to be in charge. A visit may be made to the British War Memorial and the tiny museum documenting much of the island’s nautical history before a late afternoon sailing. Ship to shore tender service. Please note: The port of call at the Falkland Islands will be dependent upon the weather conditions of the day. Day 9 Straits of Magellan Spend a day cruising through the natural passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Day 10 Punta Arenas, Chile - Cruising the Beagle Channel We arrive early this morning in Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in Chile, and often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Antarctica’. Along the coast at Otway Sound is a colony of Magellenic penguins which return every year from October to March to nest. We depart in the early evening to sail the Beagle Channel, including Glacier Alley, through the night to Ushuaia. Day 11 Ushuaia, Argentina This morning is spent cruising the Beagle Channel, acclaimed as one of the most exquisite fjords in the world and rich in wildlife. Containing six active glaciers, you will want to stay on deck and marvel at the spectacular scenery as you glide by. This afternoon we arrive at Ushuaia, the southernmost town in the world, on the south coast of Tierra del Fuego. Day 12 Scenic cruising Cape Horn The day is spent cruising the area around this southernmost region amid magnificent scenery. Until the Panama Canal was constructed, this was the main shipping route from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Day 13 Sarmiento Canal Be among the lucky few to spend a glorious day cruising through Tierra del Fuego and the snow-capped peaks and ethereal blue glaciers of the Sarmiento Canal. Cutting through Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park, this majestic waterway is surrounded by other-worldly beauty. Watch as the Amalia Glacier, part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, comes into view and witness countless seabirds that make their home in this dramatic landscape. Day 14 Cruising Chilean Fjords The southern coastline of Chile has a 1,000-mile area of virgin-forested islands, glistening glaciers and more fjords than in all of Scandinavia; and today we take a memorable cruise through this beautiful part of the world. Day 15 Puerto Montt, Chile Morning arrival in Puerto Montt, gateway to the scenic Lake District of Chile, a region of pristine lakes, primeval forest, deep blue rivers and snow-capped volcanoes. Optional excursions will enable you to explore some of the more picturesque fishing villages and enjoy magnificent views of stunning scenery, including Lago Llanquihue, set against a backdrop of two snow-capped volcanoes. Late afternoon sailing. Ship to shore tender service. Day 16 At sea Spend a final day on board, with time to savour and reflect on all the wonderful scenery you have seen during your cruise. Day 17 Valparaiso - Santiago, Chile After breakfast, we disembark MS Zaandam and depart for Vina del Mar, Chile’s major seaside resort. We drive through the town and along the coast road, passing sandy beaches, home to a variety of birds, penguins and sea lions, before stopping at a winery, where those who wish may enjoy a wine tasting. We continue to Santiago and enjoy a panoramic tour before arriving at our hotel - the Hotel Galerias (4T) or The Fundador Hotel (4T). Day 18 Santiago - In flight Today we transfer to Santiago Airport for a scheduled flight to London with Air France via Paris or LATAM via Airlines Sao Paulo. Day 19 London Arrive at London Heathrow Airport, where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
