Itinerary

Day 1 Newcastle Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Newcastle, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Balmoral (3T+) in preparation for a late evening sailing. Day 2 At sea Day 3 Cruising Gullmarsfjorden, Saltkallefjorden, Älgöfjorden, Hakefjorden & Brattöbadan, Askerofjorden & Halsefjorden and Havstensfjorden & Byfjorden, Sweden Today we cruise along some of Sweden’s most picturesque waters and fjords, including Gullsmarsfjord, western Sweden’s largest and most distinctive fjord. Steep rugged cliffs give way to deep-blue serene waters and unspoilt islets. Day 4 Malmö This morning we dock in delightful Malmö, perfect for exploring with its historic districts of classic architecture and contrasting modern buildings. Diverse and interesting, Malmö is one of Sweden’s largest cosmopolitan cities and the Västra Hamnen - the West Harbour - is a perfect example of how the city has changed over time with its former industrial district now home to a stylish and carbon neutral area of lavish apartment buildings, grand office blocks, fine restaurants and trendy cafes. However, if it’s the city’s past you wish to discover, visit the delightful old district of Gamla Staden, characterised by charming streets and architecture in Gothic and Renaissance styles. Visit the nearby Malmöhus Castle, a magnificent structure built in 1436 and now hosting a number of enthralling attractions including the Malmö Art Museum, the City Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Science and Maritime House Museum. Day 5 Visby Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Visby, ‘the city of roses’. The town is like a living museum and is home to a large number of historic buildings, monuments and churches from many centuries past. Visby’s medieval city wall is said to be the strongest and best-preserved of its kind in Scandinavia and it is worth taking a walk along the wall’s boundaries to discover Visby’s collection of medieval churches. Day 6 Cruising Stockholm Archipelago - Stockholm (overnight) Cruise along the beautiful Stockholm Archipelago - home to 30,000 picturesque islands and islets, ancient villages, unspoilt rugged landscapes, mighty cliffs and glorious sandy beaches - before arriving in Sweden’s wonderful capital, Stockholm, early this afternoon. We dock here for two nights, giving you plenty of time to explore. Day 7 Stockholm (overnight) Sweden’s impressive capital looks as though it has been painted by a talented artist as you pass picturesque lakes and canals. Founded over 700 years ago, the city hosts a plethora of historic buildings, including Drottningholm Palace and the Royal Palace in the picturesque old town of Gamla Stan - and a delightful array of museums such as the renowned Skansen open air museum and the ABBA museum. To experience the modern side of the city, visit the wealthy Norrmalm and Östermalm districts bursting with creative and cultural energy, trendy shopping malls, vibrant cafés, lavish bars and the Technology Museum. Day 8 Stockholm - Cruising Stockholm Archipelago Another day in Stockholm to leisurely explore the sights before we set sail late this afternoon and cruise the scenic Stockholm Archipelago. Day 9 At sea Day 10 Gothenburg Located along the glorious sun-soaked west coast, Gothenburg is a delight to explore with elegant streets and enchanting 17th century canals running through its centre. Sweden’s second largest city has something for everyone and highlights include the city’s Botanical Gardens, with spectacular waterfalls, a collection of greenhouses filled with flourishing tropical flora, lush green landscapes and over 6,000 different species of plants; and the Trädgårdsföreningen, a well-preserved 19th century park and horticultural garden characterised by vast woodland, exquisite collections of flowers including numerous rose species, and beautiful fresh lawns. Day 11 At sea Day 12 Newcastle We disembark after breakfast and you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
