7-Day Peru Tour: Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, & Lake Titicaca

Today you'll begin your grand tour of South America by arriving in Lima, Peru. You'll then transfer to the hotel and meet with your guide.

In the morning we'll fly to Cusco. Here we suggest travelers take a short rest in order to adjust to the altitude. In the afternoon we'll tour the city, seeing the Koicancha Temple, the Cusco Cathedral, the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca-Pucara, and the Tambomachay ruins.

After breakfast we'll enjoy a morning tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is the setting of picturesque communities, impressive terraces, and archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Afterwards we'll take a train to Aguas Calientes which rests at the foot of the magnificent, lost city of the Incas, Machu Pichu.

We'll devote the entire day to explore the amazing Machu Pichu. Situated over 2,300 meters above sea level, we'll see wondrous views of the deep gorge of the Urubamba River and the surrounding tropical jungle. In the afternoon we'll return to Cusco.

After breakfast we'll transfer to the legendary city of Puno, visiting along the way Andahuaylilas and Raqchi. Then we'll arrive at the plateau of Collao on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Then we'll check in at the hotel and relax.

This morning we'll partake in a lovely tour of the floating islands of Uros inside the Titicaca Lake. Next, we'll travel to Juliaca for our flight to Lima.

Our last day of the tour, we'll make the most of it. We'll discover the best Lima has to offer with a morning tour of the Monastery of San Francisco, the Government Palace, and the Cathedral of Lima. Upon completion, we'll transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
