Day 1 Arrive Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy

Beaune is an exquisite French town, a source of art and history. It is home to the famous Hotel-Dieu and Wine Museum, and has many shops, cafe-studded squares and a huge outdoor market to explore. Dinner is at leisure, you can choose from the many restaurants in town.

Leave the vineyards to explore the green forests and ride along the graceful river ‘Rhoin’ to reach the ruins of the Ste Marguerite abbey. The return to Beaune is through the ‘Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune’ vineyards. Trip concludes on your return to Beaune. Requirements
This trip involves 3 days cycling usually along backroads with minimal car traffic (although some short distances will have heavier traffic). The cycling distance is from 43 to 65km / 27 to 40.5mi per day over often hilly terrain, which should take between 3-6 hours. You need only carry your camera and water bottle etc. This trip requires a good level of fitness. *For safety reasons, we highly recommend that cycle helmets are worn – these will be provided to you with your bike. Bike helmet* (included), mobile phone holder, wet weather gear, daypack, water bottle and sun protection. A comprehensive gear list is included in the pre-departure information provided on booking. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets are worn whilst cycling.,
