Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Buenos Aires.
Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel.Afternoon free to explore the city.
Flight to Ushuaia and transfer to your pre-expedition hotel.
Free time in the morning to explore the city before you board the ship and set sail, surrounded by snow capped mountains, along the Beagle Channel.(This trip is based on a twin window suite).
The ship will enter Drakes Passage in the middle of the night - we have experienced this fearsome stretch of water in every mood from dead calm to conditions probably best left !
On a good crossing you will get a sight of landfall by the end of today.
Reaching the Antarctic Peninsula you will have landing each day. Generally there will be two but may be more or less depending on the weather and opportunities that present themselves.

Today the ship will reach Elephant Island where Shackleton left the majority of his men under the command of Frank Wild while he sailed to South Georgia for help.

The journey continues to South Georgia - Shackleton and his men sailed this in an open life boat 100 years ago with just a sextant and Frank Worsley to guide them.
Today you will reach South Georgia and start exploring this startling landscape.
Wildlife has claimed back the island that was once home to whalers and now it is a teeming paradise for a vast array of species.
South Georgia is made up of near vertical volcanoes rising up from the ocean. It is simply spectacular.
More time to explore South Georgia - perhaps landing at Grytviken to visit Shackletons final resting place and raise a glass to "The Boss".
Your final day in South Georgia exploring the northern tip.

A day to explore Stanley.
A day at sea on the way to Argentina.
Landing back in Argentina you will disembark and fly back to Buenos Aires.
Start your journey home (although we would recommend taking a few days to relax and take in the journey you have been on before heading back to the real world!).
