Depart Bagan early morning for a full day's drive to Kalaw. This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic drives in Myanmar. Not far from Bagan, we’ll stop off for at Mount Popa, it's an energetic climb, but the stunning view make it well worth it. From here onwards, the road to Kalaw is very bumpy but the scenery is wonderful - endless paddy fields and rolling hills.
This is where real rural Myanmar Lies. We take a trek up through local villages and local markets, and witness some of the traditional tribal life. Experience beautiful fresh food, learn about the local spiritual belief, and see some splendid caves. We will spend the evening back in Kalaw.
No trip in Myanmar is complete without a visit to Inle Lake. This is one of the largest in the country and boasts some exceptionally exotic animals and plant life. Today you’ll have time to take a boat trip and see some of the local life at the floating villages and visit the huge Phaung Daw Oo pagoda complex. Return to your hotel in the evening where you can enjoy the cooler temperatures.
Another beautiful day on the lake! You’d be a fool not to take a boat trip today. Take a boat trip and get close to all the floating flowers, the fishermen and possibly catch the rotating market. One of the highlights of this trip is the ancient monastery on the river...
