Tier Pricing

Adventure travel works best with a small group of people. In order to operate these small groups, our trips are priced according to the number of full-price passengers on the trip. (Mountain Travel Sobek staff, trip doctors, and other discounted travelers are excluded from the count for this purpose.) We initially invoice you at the highest tier level price (the smallest group size we can operate). If the price drops due to an increase in group size, you will be refunded the difference.

Prices may vary due to local taxes and trip seasonality. Click "Request Info" to inquire directly with the tour operator for the final trip price.

Check Current Availability, prices, specials with MT Sobek (Mountain Travel Sobek).

The total tour cost includes the tour price (regular or promotional) and the compulsory local payment. The promotional price is subject to change. Check directly with the operator for the latest price offer. The tour operator requires you to pay only the tour price to purchase your travel. The compulsory local payment will be paid when you join the trip. All prices are based on double, twin or triple share occupancy. Solo passengers will be accommodated in a double, twin or triple room according to availability with a passenger(s) of the same gender. Single supplement only needs to be paid if the passenger does not want to share and requests their own room. Discounts can only be applied at the time of booking and cannot be added at a later date, regardless of any changes made to the original booking.

Prices may vary due to local taxes and trip seasonality. Click "Request Info" to inquire directly with the tour operator for the final trip price.

Accommodation

MTS Camp — Kilimanjaro — Kilimanjaro

Guests on our epic Kilimanjaro summit bid sleep in comfortable four-season Mountain Hardwear dome tents. We sleep a maximum of two guests per tent, though each is roomy enough for three—allowing space to spread out when sharing. Our custom-designed mess tent gives our guests the chance to enjoy delicious and hearty meals together, while sharing stories of the day in comfort and away from the elements. To help maintain clean standards on the mountain, we also bring our own chemical toilet tents. Each camp (Machame, Shira, Barranco, Arrow Glacier, Crater, and Mweka) commands exceptional views of rugged plateaus or verdant valleys, often amidst afro-alpine scenery well above cloud level.

MTS Deluxe Camp — Itikoni Camp — Arusha

Our exclusive acclimatization camp sits at 6,500 feet and is nestled at the base of Mount Meru in the heart of Arusha National Park. The camp features luxury-style canvas tents, complete with wooden beds, linens, down comforters, pillows, and an en-suite toilet and shower tent. Feast on wonderful food prepared in the bush kitchen and enjoy the atmosphere of the dining tent or our cozy lounge tent, with its wood-burning stove and small library. Day hikes from camp will lead you to enchanting forests, lovely waterfalls, and mountain views—with chances to see resident colobus monkeys, red duiker, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and flamingos along the way. Two nights here means our travelers can acclimatize better, receive a full gear and equipment check, and stretch their legs on a warm up hike after long hours in plans before the Kilimanjaro climb.

Moivaro Lodge — Arusha

At the charming Moivaro Lodge you'll find a relaxing and atmospheric retreat, surrounded by an impressive array of flora and fauna. The rooms are spacious thatched brick cottages set in a lovely tropical garden, and feature a private veranda, fireplace, and en-suite bathroom. The lodge's staff will ensure that you are looked after in this unique environment, helping you to prepare for your safaris and assuring peace upon your return in the evening. Enjoy the beautiful East African scenery and vistas of Mount Meru from the comfortable porch, or perhaps to laze at the pool nestling in the midst of tropical trees and coffee plants.

Transportation & flights

Air Travel Airfare is not included in the land cost of our trips. For air reservations, we recommend you contact the airlines directly, either by phone or the Internet. In addition, many travelers elect to use their “frequent flyer” miles when traveling with us. But please check with our staff before purchasing or obtaining your tickets. We need to verify your arrival and departure schedule and ensure we have enough participants to operate the trip.
