What's this trip about?

This unique East African adventure blends the thrill of tracking gorillas and chimps with the variety of a classic big game safari. Uganda and Rwanda are a study in contrasts—deep jungles, crater lakes, wetlands, and savannahs, all vibrant with fascinating wildlife, yet deeply vulnerable. On game drives, forest walks, and launch trips, the fertile equatorial landscape of Queen Elizabeth National Park provides a beautiful backdrop for leopards, elephants, lions, and up to 30,000 hippos. We may even see one of Africa’s wonderful anomalies: the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.

Adventure travel works best with a small group of people. In order to operate these small groups, our trips are priced according to the number of full-price passengers on the trip. (Mountain Travel Sobek staff, trip doctors, and other discounted travelers are excluded from the count for this purpose.) We initially invoice you at the highest tier level price (the smallest group size we can operate). If the price drops due to an increase in group size, you will be refunded the difference.

Please note

In addition to your deposit of $400 per person upon confirmation, gorilla trips require a non-refundable deposit to cover the cost of each gorilla and chimp permit (Gorilla- $750 per permit, or $1,500 total the two included treks and Chimp- $150 per permit)
