Day 1: Lima

Arrival in Lima and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima - Arequipa (flight)

Day 3: Arequipa

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Begin the morning with a guided tour of the charming colonial town of Arequipa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the foot of El Misti Volcano. Visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, a small town in the heart of the city, reminiscent of Andalusia. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Arequipa - Chivay (Colca Canyon) (164 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Depart for the Colca Canyon, in the heart of the Peruvian Andes. Cross the Pampas Canahua and a vicuna (Peruvian camelid) reserve, and then continue to Chivay. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure or transfer to the La Calera thermal baths for swimming in the hot, sulphurous waters (admission included).

Day 5: Chivay - Puno (312 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Begin the morning with a scenic ride along Colca River to the Cruz del Condor overlook to watch condors soar across the sky. Return to Chivay for lunch. In the afternoon, depart for Puno and check in to your hotel.

Day 6: Puno - Lake Titicaca - Puno (60 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Full-day boat excursion on Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake (3,809 metres above sea level). Visit the floating islands of the Uros people and Taquile Island, whose 1,500 native inhabitants keep their ancient traditions alive. Lunch at a local rustic restaurant in Taquile and return to Puno.

Day 7: Puno - Cuzco (388 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Depart for Cuzco and stop at several sites along the way, including the ruins of Sillustani, Raqchi and its famous temple, and Andahuaylillas and its Sistine Chapel of Latin America.

Day 8: Cuzco

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Morning at leisure. Tour the city in the afternoon, including Plaza de Armas, Cuzco Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun. Visit four archaeological sites near Cuzco: the walled complex of Sacsayhuaman, the Q’enqo Labyrinth, PukaPukara and Tambomachay. Dinner show at a local restaurant.

Day 9: Cuzco - Sacred Valley of the Incas (Pisaq - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo) (76 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Visit the local market and ruins of Pisaq. Depart for Urubamba. Afternoon visit to Ollantaytambo and its fortress.

Day 10: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley - Cuzco (60 km)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Early-morning transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station for your train ride (2nd class) to Aguas Calientes. Take a motor coach to Machu Picchu, Lost City of the Incas and UNESCO World Heritage Site composed of temples, palaces and steep stairlike roads. Return to Cuzco by train via the Sacred Valley in the afternoon.

Day 11: Cuzco - Lima (flight)

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Visit the historic centre and its modern neighbourhoods following your arrival. Enjoy a farewell lunch at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Transfer to your hotel.
