Accommodation
Caledonian Sky Built in 1991 as a private yacht, the 100-guest Caledonian Sky has been completely refurbished to become an elegant expedition vessel. All suites offer ocean views, sitting area (some with a private balcony), well-appointed bathrooms, flat-screen TV, telephone, personal safe, hairdryer, and mini-fridge. The ship also has a dining room, two bars, library, lounge with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, a medical clinic and doctor, small gym and salon, ample outdoor decks, and an elevator that serves all decks. The vessel carries the latest safety, navigation, and communications equipment, along with roll stabilizers to minimize the ship’s motion. The captain’s open-bridge policy allows passengers onto the bridge at most times. A fleet of Zodiacs allows landings at remote locations. Category 1: Ocean-view staterooms on the Castle Deck are 244 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and three portholes. Category 2: Ocean-view staterooms on the Caledonian Deck are 232 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and one window. Category 3: Ocean-view staterooms on the Promenade Deck are 217 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and a picture window. Category 4: Ocean-view staterooms on the Promenade Deck are 217 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and a sliding mirrored glass door leading directly to the promenade. Category 5: Ocean-view staterooms on the Promenade Deck are 243 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and a sliding mirrored glass door leading directly to the promenade. Category 6: Ocean-view staterooms on the Bridge Deck are 215 square feet, and feature beds that are configurable into two twins or one queen, a sitting area, en suite bathroom, and patio doors leading to a private balcony that is 45 square feet.
