Loei is one of Thailand's best-kept cycling secrets. Nestled up against the Laos border in northeast Thailand where the mountains meet the Mekong rive, Loei is blessed with a diverse, beautiful landscape and excellent roads that cut gloriously through national parks and river valleys. Our short but action-packed cycle trip has been designed for road bikers to see the best of the province in just four days, taking a loop from Loei we ride 350km through Phu Ruea National Park, meandering along the Mekong River to charming Chiang Khan before cutting back through the hills to Loei. While it is home to some impressive mountains, the slopes of Loei are not as steep or daunting as Thailand's far north and roll through a rural patchwork of hills and valleys, making for wonderful bike riding terrainWe have selected some delightful hotels and there will be time at the end of each day to hang up your helmet, have your guides and mechanics service your road bike while you relax and enjoy the mountain view or a few beers by the riverside. Our last night as in Chiang Khan, a photogenic Thai hamlet with charming wooden architecture and sweeping views of the Mekong River and the Lao mountains beyond. Every evening the town turns into a busy walking street market with buskers, artists and street-food vendors and some of our favourite restaurants and boasts an excellent craft beer pub - a fitting place to celebrate our cycling achievements!

This Thailand bicycle tour will provide a unique insight into the life and traditions of Thais and the beautiful southern coast. We cycle off the main roads as much as possible, so we can explore long stretches of beaches, the beautiful island of Koh Talu, and scenic areas around Koh Kho Khao and Khao Lak. We have a true Thai experience when we venture off the beaten track, staying overnight at a traditional fishing community with a family.

Connect two of Europe’s most stately capital cities as we trace the course of the Danube River through Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. We discover some of the region’s most iconic heritage sites, wine & dine at local eateries, and spend our nights at cozy hotels.Meeting in Vienna, the adventure begins with a ride south through the Danube Floodplain National Park to reach the small, bustling Slovakian capital of Bratislava. Here we spend two nights in a unique “botel” right on the river, explore the city by bike, and indulge in a wine tasting. We then journey across the Transdanubian plains and rolling hills of western Hungary, immersing ourselves in the rustic countryside. We also explore charming Hungarian cities such as Győr, known for its enchanting baroque town square, and Esztergom, home to the country's grandest Catholic basilica. On our final cycling day we ride the Danube’s "Great Bend” to reach Budapest where we end our tour amongst the city’s glittering landmarks. Deep in the heart of Turkey Kapadokya, ancient volcanic eruptions dispersed thick ash, which solidified into a soft rock—called tuff—tens of metres thick. Wind and water went to work on this plateau creating a fairy tale landscape of cones, pillars, pinnacles, mushrooms, and chimneys. Thousands of years ago, humans took a cue from Mother Nature carved tunnels into the soft rock, and an underground urbanized landscape was created, living at one with nature rather than imposing upon it.

We kick things off with a climb over the Thung Khe Pass and descend into the Mai Chau Valley, known for its lush rice paddies and charming ethnic stilt house villages. We then follow the course of the Song Ma River into the rolling hills of Thanh Hoa Province.Stage 2: The Ho Chi Minh Highway. Over three days, we hit the pavement of this legendary highland highway. Constructed atop the trails of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, the smooth tarmac allows for a fast-paced journey past jungle-clad mountains and expansive farmlands. Stage 3: Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. We have a rest day to explore some of the world's most visually striking caves, underground rivers, and limestone formations.Stage 4: The Central Coast. Over four days, we traverse coastal villages, scenic shorelines, and tranquil lagoons. In Vinh Moc, we visit a fascinating network of war-era tunnels; in Hue, we explore the glittering Imperial Citadel; and in Lang Co, we relax by the beach. The Mae Hong Son Loop is one of Thailand’s most iconic road biking challenges. Starting and ending in Chiang Mai, this tour takes you to some of the tallest mountain peaks in Thailand, featuring spectacular winding roads that offer tough yet rewarding climbs and exhilarating descents. The route meanders through jungle-clad hillscapes and farmlands cultivated by various highland cultures, including the Karen and Shan. As you put your legs to the test, feast your eyes on breathtaking panoramas from viewpoints, the tranquil sight of Buddhist temples, and the warm smiles of curious locals eager to cheer you on!After meeting and warming up, we kick things off by riding a section of the Samoeng Loop, one of Chiang Mai’s classic road cycling routes in the mountains that surround the city. Following a ride through the rice fields in the Mae Rim Valley, we venture further west into the rugged mountains of Mae Hong Son Province where we descend into Pai, Thailand’s hippy town. From there, we conquer the famed Doi Kiew Lom Climb and trace the undulating contours of the densely forested Shan Hills. After a night spent at a riverside hotel in Mae Sariang, we tackle the tour's queen stage, gaining nearly 3,000 metres over 130 km to the base of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s tallest peak. Standing at 2,565 metres above sea level, the 30 km winding ascent to the top of the “Roof of Thailand” serves as our grand finale, after which we transfer back to Chiang Mai.Join us in conquering the Mae Hong Son Loop and earn your place in Thailand’s road biking hall of fame!
