What's this trip about?

The Canadian Rockies might bear a slight resemblance to their American siblings, but they couldn’t be more different. Heavily glaciated and rich in limestone, their jagged peaks enjoy more precipitation, and consequently offer greener valleys to explore. At the heart of these stunning mountaintops are Banff and Yoho National Parks, two of the Canadian park system’s flagship wilderness areas that straddle the border of British Columbia and Alberta. Like most national parks, they are also heavily visited…but leave it to MTS to find a way around the crowds!

Tier Pricing

Adventure travel works best with a small group of people. In order to operate these small groups, our trips are priced according to the number of full-price passengers on the trip. (Mountain Travel Sobek staff, trip doctors, and other discounted travelers are excluded from the count for this purpose.) We initially invoice you at the highest tier level price (the smallest group size we can operate). If the price drops due to an increase in group size, you will be refunded the difference.

Prices may vary due to local taxes and trip seasonality. Click "Request Info" to inquire directly with the tour operator for the final trip price.

Check Current Availability, prices, specials with MT Sobek (Mountain Travel Sobek).

The total tour cost includes the tour price (regular or promotional) and the compulsory local payment. The promotional price is subject to change. Check directly with the operator for the latest price offer. The tour operator requires you to pay only the tour price to purchase your travel. The compulsory local payment will be paid when you join the trip. All prices are based on double, twin or triple share occupancy. Solo passengers will be accommodated in a double, twin or triple room according to availability with a passenger(s) of the same gender. Single supplement only needs to be paid if the passenger does not want to share and requests their own room. Discounts can only be applied at the time of booking and cannot be added at a later date, regardless of any changes made to the original booking.

Prices may vary due to local taxes and trip seasonality. Click "Request Info" to inquire directly with the tour operator for the final trip price.

Accommodation

Buffalo Mountain Lodge — Banff, Alberta, Canada

Distinct from the majority of Banff hotels, Buffalo Mountain Lodge is situated on Tunnel Mountain—formerly called “Sleeping Buffalo” by native peoples. The main lodge complements its natural setting with  post and beam construction and high open ceilings. The decor pays tribute to old-world craftsmanship with custom-made cherry, pine, and bent-willow furnishings. Guest rooms feature wood burning stone fireplaces and private baths with all modern amenities. Outdoor enthusiasts will be rewarded with an abundance of activities, including access to skiing, hiking and mountain biking, while culture vultures can enjoy nearby galleries, museums and shops.

Copper Horse Lodge — Golden, BC

Located on the mountain at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in Golden, British Columbia, Copper Horse Lodge is just 100 paces from the gondola. The Lodge offers stylish, modern accommodations and contemporary dining in a spectacular mountain setting with ski-in luxury. Nestled between Selkirk, Rocky and Purcell mountains, winter and summer travelers can enjoy year-round activities, such as skiing, hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing, golfing, and fly fishing.

Deer Lodge — Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada

With much of its original hand-hewn log structure and decor still in place – this is the classic definition of rustic mountain accommodations. Located just minutes by foot from the enchanting Lake Louise, this century old property has also seen substantial restoration of its early architecture. All rooms feature private bathrooms and feather comforters. The property features a rooftop hot tub with a captivating view of the Victoria Glacier.

Emerald Lake Lodge — British Columbia, Canada

A nod to the past characterizes accommodations at Emerald Lake Lodge. Dotting the property’s 13-acre peninsula are 24 cabin-style buildings each designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the lodge. Built of hand-hewn timber and featuring massive stone fireplaces, the lodge includes an elegant dining room, quiet reading and sitting rooms, conference facilities, and a games room. The lounge features an oak bar salvaged from an 1890′s-era Yukon saloon. From upper and lower verandas, the vistas of surrounding mountainscapes are breathtaking. Guest rooms feature private baths, balconies and wood burning stone fireplaces, balconies, and private bathrooms with all modern amenities.

Air Travel Airfare is not included in the land cost of our trips. For air reservations, we recommend you contact the airlines directly, either by phone or the Internet. In addition, many travelers elect to use their “frequent flyer” miles when traveling with us. But please check with our staff before purchasing or obtaining your tickets. We need to verify your arrival and departure schedule and ensure we have enough participants to operate the trip.
