Accommodation
Doe Bay Resort & Retreat — Orcas Island
Doe Bay Resort & Retreat is a serene, 38-acre getaway at water's edge on Orcas Island. They offer a variety of accommodations—including cottages, cabins, yurts, and campsites—and furnishings are basic verging on rustic. The word "retreat" part of the name is perhaps more accurate than what the word "resort" might imply, but the laid-back vibe wins this place lots of fans. The clothing-optional soaking tubs are a great way to unwind and have amazing views of the waterfront. And wildlife spottings are common, from deer to bald eagles to Orca whales.
Hotel Vintage — Seattle
Part of the Kimpton Hotel chain, Hotel Vintage is a boutique hotel in downtown Seattle. The décor is inspired by the Washington wine country—thus the name—with vineyard-inspired hues of burgundy, taupe, and green. Furnishings are sleek and sophisticated, and you'll find everything you need to make yourself at home—including a friendly and helpful staff that consistently gets high marks from other travelers. The hotel's location makes it perfect for exploring downtown, and the waterfront is just a ten-minute walk away.
Lake Crescent Lodge — Olympic National Park
Built in 1915, Lake Crescent Lodge is a picturesque resort with classic charm, from its antique-furnished lobby to the lovely sun porch with views out over the lake. The lodge is located on the Olympic Peninsula within Olympic National Park—an ideal location for those wishing to drink in the park's epic beauty. There are 55 rooms located in the historic lodge and motel-style guest buildings. Some have a rustic feel while others are more contemporary in style, but all are spacious and comfortable.
